Yes, your URL is important (if you don’t know what that is, a URL is a web page’s address). Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. If you follow these simple rules, your URLs will really help you out.
- Rule #1: Take a moment to think about the words in your URL
- Rule #2: Separate words with hyphens
- Rule #3: Use all lowercase, always
- Rule #4: If you can get away with it, don’t use a file extension
- Rule #5: Don’t use too many subdirectories
